Research is published in the following NRI publications series:

Monographs
These titles are the top of the range publications of academic excellence. They contain empirical research data and interpretation of such research including references to existing literature on the subject or topic.

Discussion Papers
These titles are progressive reports on focus research topics as opposed to full monograph subjects and may be chapters for a monograph. Like monographs, they contain empirical research data and interpretation of such research including references to existing literature on the subject or topic.

Spotlight with NRI
Spotlight with NRI - informing and stimulating thinking and discussion on key social, economic, and development issues and policies - reaching out to policy makers, administrators, decision makers, private enterprise, other stakeholders, and the general public.

Occasional Papers
These titles are predominantly papers presented at in-house seminars, NRI-generated seminars or workshops and from other sources. They present current comment on a particular issue.

Special Publications
These titles are multi-authored collections of articles such as Searchlight compendiums and collections of papers from NRI-generated (or in partnership with other organisations) conferences, seminars, and workshops on a particular topic or issue. External consultancy research reports conducted in collaboration with NRI are also published under this title.

Bibliographies
The bibliographies focus on topical subject areas and include monographs, books, theses, individual book chapters, journal articles, published and unpublished papers, official reports, consultancy reports, pamphlets, and newspaper articles.
